Colin Angle guides the strategic direction of the company. Angle is a true pioneer in the field of mobile robots, designing the behavior-controlled rovers for NASA that led to the Sojourner exploring Mars in 1997. But more importantly Angle has pioneered business models and relationships responsible for the introduction of multiple commercially viable robotic products in commercial and consumer markets.
Angle's vision and commitment were recently recognized when he was named one of the Ernst and Young New England Entrepreneurs of the Year for 2003 (with iRobot co-founder Helen Greiner). This prestigious award lauds his vision, skills, accomplishments and determination in fostering the growth of a brainchild into a successful business. Angle holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in computer science, both from MIT. |

Under Helen Greiner's leadership, iRobot Corp. is delivering robots into the military and consumer markets. Helen is highly decorated for her visionary contributions in technology innovation and business leadership. She was named by the Kennedy School at Harvard in conjunction with the US News and World Report as one of America's Best Leaders, and was recently honored by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) with the prestigious Pioneer Award. She has also been honored as a Technology Review Magazine "Innovator for the Next Century," invited to the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader of Tomorrow, and has been awarded the DEMO God Award at the DEMO Conference. In 2003, she was named one of the Ernst and Young New England Entrepreneurs of the Year (with iRobot co-founder Colin Angle). Her 16 years of experience in robotic technology includes work at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Helen is a Trustee of the Museum of Science, on the Robotics Advisory Board of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and is a Director of National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). She holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in computer science, both from MIT.

Rodney Brooks is the principal architect of iRobot's innovative proprietary software technology. He is also the Panasonic Professor of Robotics at MIT and the Director of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab. His principal fields of interest are robotics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. Dr Brooks is a noted authority on Artificial Intelligence and is frequently profiled and quoted in articles and news stories in venues such as Good Morning America, Scientific American, Nightline and many Discover and Learning Channel shows. He is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering. |
